Whiskey Blanket is never afraid to eschew hip-hop expectation–live cello and violin are part of their show, producer Steakhouse samples bluegrass records and they perform in suits. This approach is readily apparent on their new release, From the Dead of Dark. Inspired by spaghetti westerns, Ennio Morricone and zombies (among other things) From the Dead of Dark is cinematic in it’s scope; something we wanted to get that across in this short for the release announcement. We did a dusk/dawn shoot for most of the exterior shots which was a first for Rayonism!
